We’ve included a few of our favourite places on these pages and in the photographs above but there are plenty more around the Lake District. Suggestions can also be found at the local visitor information offices. The nearest offices to the Lodges are in Ambleside, Waterhead, Windermere and Bowness.

For children, we’ve included a separate children’s page based on the things our two children like to do when they are in the Lakes. This isn’t for adults!

 

 

The Lake District

 

The Lakes is a beautiful, much loved part of the country and the area welcomes millions of visitors each year. It’s easy to see why with spectacular mountains, crystal clear lakes, rolling fells, tranquil woods......unspoiled countryside at every turn.

 

The area also boasts bustling towns, with excellent shopping, vibrant markets and many fantastic pubs and restaurants. With so many visitors there are always lots of things going on and plenty of attractions and activities to enjoy. There is a huge choice of things to do or places to go, whatever the weather.
